About Professor Sarah Jones
I am a global education leader committed to challenging traditional modes of delivery and driving accessible, transformative, practice-led curricula. As Professor of Education Innovation and Pro Vice Chancellor, my work is rooted in curiosity, creativity, and a belief that education should empower every learner.

My research and practice explore emerging technologies, including AI, VR, and AR, redefining how stories and learning experiences are created. Through the concept of storyliving, my immersive projects have featured at international film festivals and influenced global conversations on narrative and technology. I’ve collaborated with the BBC, BFI, and Royal Television Society, and advised the UK Government on immersive technologies.

As a disruptor, I lead institutional change at scale—transforming curriculum delivery, establishing innovative centres like the HuffPost Centre for Journalism, and creating global collaborations such as the Global News Relay, which continues to unite students across continents nearly a decade on.

Recognised as an Apple Distinguished Educator and Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, I champion AI literacy and digital innovation in education. My leadership style is authentic and future-focused, combining strategic vision with creative experimentation to deliver impact that lasts.

Before academia, I was an award-winning journalist and news anchor at ITV, reporting globally and shaping stories that matter.
